American Idol Flashback: Top 24
Monday, December 31st, 2007Here we go again. Time for another American Idol Flashback people. The new season is going to starting a few weeks. It’s not going to be as good as previous seasons but hopefully it won’t get any worse than last season (is that even possible?).
So, Chris made it through the Hollywood rounds and into the Top 24. Click HERE to see the video of Chris hearing the good news from the judges.
OK, onto the Top 24; when the show really begins. Well, actually it’s the Top 12 guys and the Top 12 girls, because as you know they split them up. I personally think it is ridiculous that they split them up like that because talent has nothing to do with gender. Why should 6 girls make it to the Top 12 if 3 of them are crappy singers and 9 of the guys are good? You know what I mean? That’s how people like Mikalah Gordon and Lindsay Cardinale make it and then people like David Brown don’t make it and Nikko Smith only makes it because some idiot drops out. Season 4 anyone? Do you see what I’m saying here?
Ok, I know…moving on.
So, Chris sang Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive” which is an amazing song and such a great choice for him. Here’s the full video:
I just loved that performance! It’s one of my favorites. I remember the night it was on I wasn’t home so I had to tape it. And my friend was watching it and sent me a text freaking out that Chris was singing Bon Jovi. We were ridiculously obsessed with American Idol at the time. Ahh those were the good old days.
In case you forgot, the other 11 guys were: Patrick Hall, David Radford, Bucky Covington, William Makar, Jose Penala, Kevin Covais, Gedeon McKinney, Elliott Yamin, Bobby Bennett, Ace Young and Taylor Hicks.
And the 12 girls were: Mandisa Hundley, Kellie Pickler, Becky O’Donohue, Ayla Brown, Paris Bennett, Stevie Scott, Brenna Gethers, Heather Cox, Melissa McGhee, Lisa Tucker, Kinnik Sky and Katharine McPhee.
Two guys and two girls have to go home. Who will go? Who will stay? Until next time…
