American Idol Rant
So, have you been watching American Idol?
As I’m sure I’ve mentioned many times, I couldn’t stop watching American Idol if I wanted to. It’s just addicting. I can’t stop!
So, this week they talked about Daughtry for a little while. Did you catch it?
When they were doing the inevitable “Who will be this year’s rocker?” section of the auditions, they showed a clip of Daughtry’s new video “Feels Like Tonight” and talked about how Daughtry is one the biggest success stories to come out of American Idol. I personally think he is the absolute best.
Now, when they picked their token rocker for this year, David Cook, they included a whole thing about how he is inspired by Chris Daughtry and he watched Chris’ audition to prepare for his own… blah, blah, blah.
You know who I’m talking about, the poser kid with the mohawk and the red streak in the front of his hair. I would post a picture of him but I don’t want to look at it every time I update my blog. Sorry if I’m being hateful and harsh but it really annoyed me that he played the Chris card and then sucked.
Dear David Cook,
You are nowhere near as good as Chris Daughtry. You should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as Chris. You have no right to compare yourself to him or use his name so that people will like you. You are not even a rock singer. You are not as good as you think you are and you should not be butchering Bon Jovi songs. The only reason you are this year’s token rocker is because all the others ones that came out were horrible jokes.

I’m allowed to be like this because I take American Idol VERY seriously. Don’t mess with Chris Daughtry… or Bon Jovi for that matter.

Says you. Chris Daughtry may have paved the way for success, but Bo Bice was the first rocker on American Idol.
He was also inspired too, so don’t be bitter about it.
And stop bashing people, you don’t see Cook dissing others.

I’m both Daughtry and Cook fan
I just don’t understand why it has to be Daughtry versus Cook?
Both are talented and with great voice.
As a fan of both, I appreciate their music.
It doesn’t have to be Daughtry-way-better-than-Cook or vice versa.
If you support either one, it’s fine. Don’t have to bash the other one.
It’s not fair coz both are great musicians.

OMG!!!! It’s Daughtry VS Cook!!!! Who will win?

It’s not a competition, and it’s not about who’s the best between the two rockers. It’s about who one likes.
You have every right to think Daughtry is the second coming, and that David Cook is not worth his weight in cow dung. It’s your opinion, and you are entitled to it.
At the same time, I really wish fans would stop bashing other performers to try and elevate the one they prefer. First it doesn’t do anything for the singer in question and second, it’s rather annoying. Why can’t it be “I like so and so but don’t like so and so”?
I’ve started watching AI on Season 4, with Bo Bice, THE original AI rocker. Then S5, Daughtry was my fav… I still love him to this day. Hell, I went to see a Nickelback show just to see him perform (he has not come to where I live as the main event yet). And I hate Nickelcrap. Then with S7 came David Cook. All great performers, all legitimate rockers.
I love rock, and rock singers and rock shows. The fact that I love AC/DC doesn’t take anything away from ZZ Top, whom I also love. The fact that I go crazy for INXS doesn’t take anything away from the fact I also go crazy for Foo Fighters.
And the fact that I absolutely adore David Cook doesn’t take anything away from my love for Daughtry.

Woah, I’m gonna respond to each of these separately because I feel like it.
To “Hi”:
‘Says me’ is right because last time I checked, this was my blog. I never said one word about Bo Bice so I don’t know why you’re bringing him up. Also, I never said Daughtry wasn’t inspired by him (He actually said that he was).
I am not bitter about David Cook. What do I have to be bitter about? I’m just disgusted that I had to watch him the whole season because he makes me sick.
Also, I can bash him if I choose because, again, this is my blog, which means my opinion.
And in case you missed it, my opinion is: David Cook sucks.
I don’t care if David Cook doesn’t diss anyone. I do. Get over it.

I didn’t plot David Cook and Daughtry against each other. And I never said it was DC vs. CD so Idon’t know what you’re talking about.
I’m happy you like them both. I don’t.
I said this to ‘Hi’ as well, I can bash him if I want to. He has enough people kissing his butt, there needs to be a little balance.
It doesn’t have to be Chris is better than Cook… but it is.
You have every right to like them both just like I have every right to hate Cook… and express my hatred.

You’re absolutely right. It is about who you like. And guess what? I don’t like Cook!
Thank you for saying I’m entitled to my opinion. I am. Which makes everything you typed after that pointless.
I’m not trying to put down Cook to make Daughtry look better. I just hate Cook. Take Daughtry out of the equation and I still hate Cook.
I started watching AI way before you and I’m simply expressing my opinions about the contestants. You don’t have to run to defend your boyfriend. He’s never gonna see this.
How is you calling Nickelback, “Nickelcrap” any different then what I’m doing? Oh wait, it’s not. We’re both expressing our opinions.
And the fact that I love Daughtry doesn’t take away from my hate of Cook.

It’s just laughable to me that whoever runs this blog seems to like being so hateful, I’m sure that makes you loads of fun to be around. There are plenty of people who’ve been on idol who I didn’t care for but I never went on crazy rants about them.
Also I find it odd that you’d hate someone so much that seems to be practically best friends with an Idol that you love..aka Michael Johns. I highly doubt if you were to meet MJ you’d say half of the horrible shit about David to his face. Just the way you talk down about DC really makes it seem like you hate almost everything about him…Michael Johns obviously seems to like a lot about David or I highly doubt they’d be such good friends.
You may not like his singing/performances/whatever else but do honestly want to put so much HATE towards a person you don’t even know. If you do than so be it, but I just think that energy could be used for something a little more positive. Also you can respond if you want, but I won’t be coming back…I just saw your blog by mistake.

I am so sick of people commenting on this. Since when are people not allowing to express their opinions for the love of God? Besides the fact that this is my blog and I can write whatever I choose.
I have no intentions of ever meeting Michael Johns and I certainly wouldn’t talk to him about David Cook if I ever did.
For the love of God people, get over it! Don’t take it so personally that I can’t stand him!
